Euro-Asian Master in Medical Technology and Healthcare Business // ERASMUS Mundus

We are extremely happy and very proud to share with our community, partners and friends, that our project Euro-Asian Master in Medical Technology and Healthcare Business (EMMaH) has been selected in 2022 by the European Commission for funding as an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master.

APPLICATIONS FOR 2023/24 ARE ALREADY OPEN AND YOU CAN APPLY HERE

The master programme EMMaH is a two-year joint Master degree covering a rich multidisciplinary curriculum, from biomedical technologies and clinical research to healthcare business. Our two-year course, taught in English, is run by a consortium of four full partner institutions, composed by the University of Lille, France (coordinator), the University of Applied Sciences Hamburg, Germany, the Polytechnic Institute of Porto, Portugal, and the Taipei Medical University (TMU) in Taiwan. The Kick Off meeting of this project took place in Lille between 18-21th January 2023, bringing together management teams from the four countries of the Consortium.

The Polytechnic Institute of Porto, specifically the School of Health, was represented by: Cristina Prudêncio (President), Nuno Rocha (Vice President), Sandra Rua (EMMaH Local coordinator) and Rosália Fonte (International Office).

Supported by a multicultural and multidisciplinary staff team, EMMaH covers different fields, from biomedical technologies and clinical research to healthcare business. The fast-changing healthcare diagnostics sector, boosted by innovation and demographic evolution, is confronted with transformation in healthcare reality. EMMaH’s main outcome is to reduce the lack of human resources in this research and technology-based sector by increasing employability over a wide spectrum of positions and responsibilities.

In the next four editions, starting in September 2023, designed for at least 85 students, the consortium will allocate 60 Erasmus Mundus high-level scholarships to excellent students worldwide. Students will have the opportunity to study one semester on each EU campus and complete a master thesis with any of the four partners. Graduates are awarded a joint master diploma co-signed by the EU partners and the MSc from TMU (depending on the student’s choice for the Master thesis).

EMMaH is a professionalising master that allows students to work in an international environment by combining theoretical analysis and concrete case studies in partnership with various health organisations. We have the collaboration and support of 12 Associated Partners including companies, research centres, networks and universities.
