Abstract:

In soccer, lateral sprain of the ankle (ELT) stands out as the most prevalent injury, often due to the variety of cleats available on the market and the increasing use of synthetic lawns. The increasing use of synthetic lawns at international level makes the choice of footwear suitable for this type of tread very important in the sports field. This importance emerges from the point of view of sporting performance, but also from the point of view of injury risk. In fact, the interaction between the ground and footwear has assumed a high relevance as a potential risk factor for ELT. This project aims to evaluate the influence of different cleats models on different biomechanical variables that are related to the risk of ligament injury. The results obtained in this project will allow to defining the safest option from the point of view of soccer shoes for the sporting context.
