The Center for Rehabilitation Research (CIR) has 17 integrated researchers dedicated to the field of Rehabilitation sciences, in motor, cognitive and social perspective, throughout the life cycle and its implications and interrelationships with activities and participation. It’s composed by two internal groups one dedicated to psychosocial rehabilitation (LabRP) and another to (Re)habitalation of  human movement system.

Our main study goal is to develop and/or test interpretive, explanatory and predictive models and strategies, processes, products/technologies for assessment, measurement and intervention.

The Unit promotes interdisciplinary between areas such as Physics/Biomechanics, Physiology, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Radiology, Psychology, Audiology and Neurophysiology.

The areas of expertise of the research group are within different fields including:

  1. Biomechanics
  2. Motor control and learning
  3. Exercise physiology and performance
  4. Rehabilitation of movement system dysfunction
  5. Neurocognitive and psychosocial rehabilitation
  6. Aging and Mental Health
